Unusual noises or smells from your PureONE warrant attention. Here’s what to check:
Hissing sounds:
Indicates a gas leak, or possibly that the pressure release valve is leaking. Check all lid seals, hose connections, and the pressure release valve.
Intermittent noises:
Debris in the fan can cause intermittent noises. Clean excess dust from the fan with compressed air.
Rotten egg smell:
Suggests contamination or the formation of hydrogen sulfide, a highly toxic gas — also indicating contamination. Empty the lye solution, clean your PureONE, and replace the lye solution with a new batch.
Strong taste in bubbled drinking water:
Hydrogen makes contaminants in drinking water taste more strongly. Filtering the drinking water before bubbling can help if the taste is an issue.
Any persistent unusual symptoms warrant contacting Daily Hydrogen support.
